"Quaint sea coast towns, amazing sunrises, breath-taking views from atop high mountain peaks, and cool, white crashing waves from the Atlantic." No, I am not talking about my small farming hometown in Illinois, but my new home in beautiful New England. These are just a few of my favorite things about living in New Hampshire. OK, so I know that those quaint sea coast towns may smell a little fishy, and to watch the sunrise I'd have to be up at a time that should be unholy, and the views from atop mountains sure are breath-taking because of all the climbing you have to do to get to the top, and the cool waves are more like frigid waves from the Arctic Ocean! But nonetheless, I do love it here!
I also love CrossWay Christian Church. It's only here that you will go to church in a warehouse with chandeliers, where you can have your coffee and doughnuts during the service.
I came to CrossWay weeks after graduating from Lincoln Christian College and became their first full time Children's Minister. Going into full time ministry right out of college can be pretty overwhelming. I firmly believe that the first couple years of ministry (namely the first) are crucial to your "ministry life." The things you learn and do and the habits you set will affect your ministry forever. That's why I think that the Resident Program is so valuable. People have been investing so much time and energy into me as a minister, but also as a fellow child of God. My ministry now and in the future is even brighter because of my Resident Ministry at CrossWay Christian Church.
